I am pleased with the new look and feel of my book and I think people will be able to understand what the message is of the book now that the book cover is changed.

This is still such a rocky and scary road being transparent about a difficult financial crisis but I know God is ordering my steps.

I have been asked by many people how I was able to maintain my composure and sanity during the time when I initially filed bankruptcy. I was so very proud of my high credit score and really got depressed when I had to file bankruptcy. I recently did a live interview and produced a CD on the five ways to keep your sanity before, during and after filing bankruptcy. The CD is on my website and is on sale for $14. I give valuable tips and life lessons and is worth listening to.

I am still standing and still sane and I know it is a rough road for a lot of people right now but just realize you will recover and get to the other side. www.bankruptcyaintbroke.com

I haven’t blogged in awhile as I had a whirlwind last 6 months. My boyfriend of 2 years asked me to marry him and we were married on May 15, 2010.

He looked beyond my faults of having to file bankruptcy, not having good credit and sometimes feeling like I’ve failed. He looked beyond all that and saw the person who I really am. I love him and appreciate him very much.

Filing bankruptcy isn’t the end of the world. Sometimes you have to do what you don’t want to do to get to a better place in your life. I am a witness to that.

Declaring bankruptcy can be a good thing. I have found that for some people, myself included, filing bankruptcy has been a blessing in disguise. Even though it was something I didn’t want to do initially, after I filed, I realized that this was God’s way of helping me stay in my home and manage my debt.

Also, my income had been cut off completely so filing bankruptcy gave me a couple of months to find a new client and get a few dollars coming in to stay afloat.

Bankruptcy actually has been a help and has given me hope. That is the main reason I wrote the book…as a message of hope.

Well, I’m on the home stretch. My book is almost complete. It has truly been a long, audurous road and I’m glad I’m almost to the finish line. I truly respect all authors out there who take the time to sit down and actually write anything. Writing is extremely HARD work. Don’t let anyone tell you different. I’m anxious to share my story and have many people waiting on the book. I actually have 12 pre-orders and I will send out another notice this week to a larger audience to let them know that the book is on the way. I sent out a notice to a few friends and family (about 100 people) that I was writing this book and from that I received 12 orders. So that is interesting and very refreshing. I appreciate the support.

I feel in my gut this book will be a best seller and I think I’m finally ready to get the word out about it and really talk about it to people. It has been difficult but I’m slowly getting there. Keep me in prayer. I can’t wait to send out the notice indicating that my book is finally done. I know I’m going to cry when I hold it in my hand. It has been a labor of love but I’m glad I went through it. Stay tuned……….

Interestingly enough, I am still working on my book. I should have been finished months ago but I am realizing that it is really hard to write out difficult things about your life.

I wrote about my bankruptcy process backwards. What I mean is I wrote all the easy chapters first and I am down to the last two chapters which are, “What happened” and “The Journey” and I keep procrastinating. These chapters have been the most difficult to write because I have to go back to that time and place when I was going through the initial stages of my bankruptcy. I’m digging deep down inside my inner, core being and feeling those feelings that I felt back then….feelings that I thought I had buried and were over, and to drudge them up has really taken a toll on me emotionally. Because I’ve always been such a stickler on my credit and always had such high standards, filing bankruptcy really was a life altering and difficult thing for me to do. I truly kicked and screamed and fought filing for as long as I could. I just couldn’t fathom going down that road.

At any rate, I’m at the home stretch of finishing this book and it truly has been a struggle. These last two chapters have been a challenge to say the least and I am just hopeful I can get through them by the end of this weekend. I’m anxious to get this book proofed and published but it has to be the whole story, the entire story, the real story in order for it to TRULY help someone going through this as well.

Keep me in prayer. Writing about your life, really isn’t as easy as some may think……..especially when it is a difficult topic.

I will try to update my blog more often. I’ve just been very busy with a conference and it has taken up a lot of my time. I will now be able to refocus for awhile and will be more diligent in updating my blog.

Stay tuned………. Theresa

Well interestingly enough, I’ve had a few judgemental comments from some of my “friends” regarding my book coming out. Some folks feel a little guilty about not being there for me during that time, I’ve had a few folks send me some not so nice comments and I even have one person showing signs of jealousy. That one is the most shocking of all. Who is jealous of someone having to file bankruptcy? I know I wouldn’t be jealous. I really don’t understand people and mainly females. We get jealous over the craziest things. I think what people don’t realize is that telling your story and being transparent is hard. It’s not easy and not for the faint at heart. I’m not exactly thrilled to be letting the whole world know that I had to file bankruptcy. There’s no prize or crown of glory for having gone through difficult financial struggles. I just don’t understand the negativity and jealousy. If you don’t have thick skin, don’t do it. People judge you and aren’t always nice to you even when you go through a difficult situation. I don’t really want to tell my story but it’s not about what I want, it’s about what God is leading me to do. I always say, you know its from God when it is something you don’t really want to do but he keeps telling you to do it. Can I get an Amen?

Overall, the support has been overwhelming from my Thought For The Day Crew. I didn’t send the notification out to everyone, just a few select individuals. The global push and getting it out to the masses will be done in the next two weeks. I’m slowly getting my book out there. I hope everyone who understands that this book is about helping someone else during this crazy economic time will send up extra prayers for me. I was able to hold on and hold out and not get too caught up in the sadness of my having to file. It is my hope that I can help someone else snap out of the sadness and negativity as well.
